Lisbon & the "end" of an adventure

Here we are.....my last stop! How did the last 6 weeks go by so fast?!  Where's Zack Morris and his ever-so-convenient 'time-out' when you need it?! Sigh.

So as I left off in my last post, I had a dreaded overnight train from Madrid to Lisbon.  11 whopping hours. 11!!! That's disgusting.  It was the only rail option to get me to Lisbon and trust me, at this point, after nearly 6 weeks of training it, I was ready to hop on a flight to save my sanity.

Madrid + Sevilla = some serious Spanish heat!

Well, it's only been a few days since I've been back home and I'm already having severe Europe withdrawals....wahhhhh.  It's definitely bittersweet being home, a tad surreal at first to be honest.  Not sure why because I've been away for longer than this before but it was just an indescribable feeling this time.  Maybe it was because I came back to a different home. Maybe it was because I was in such a visually different place. Maybe because it was such a far cry from life back here. Who knows.

Greetings from Sevilla! Yup, I know, I'm a few cities behind on the blogging. My bad! That's honestly because I'm just too busy getting every last ounce of goodness in my belly. Completely justified. 

Time to fill you in on the excitement of my first Spanish stop....Barcelona! Spain has been at the top of my "must-visit" list for a while so I was trying real hard not to get my panties in a bunch with excitement!

Buenas Dias from Barcelona!

Not sure how two weeks in Paris flew by but here I am, week 4, country #3. 

Writing to you from the bar while I wait for the Netherlands/Costa Rica game to start. Stop right there. I know what you're thinking, "Ekta? Soccer? Ummm..." Not gonna lie, it's actually fun to watch on this side of the world, especially in Italy and France when they were both in it....*crickets*. There's a sea of orange in here though...should I root for Costa Rica to be a shit disturber? I'll let you know how it goes. 

Paris, J'Adore! || Part 1

Bonjour from a cold and dreary Paris.

I guess the weather was too good to be true until now!I'm sitting here in my little Parisian apartment with a bag of candy by my side (surprise surprise) and some good ol' Backstreet Boys playing in the background (don't hate).

Florence + Venice

Good morning!

Writing to you from the train en route to Paris which means I'm officially done with the Italian portion of my trip... Sad face. 

After leaving Rome on Wednesday, I headed to Florence for a few days. Despite being in Italy for nearly two weeks at that point, it was my first time actually being alone and to be honest, it kind of felt weird.

I'm still alive and haven't eaten myself into a carb or gelato coma yet...Yay me! Dang, I may have just jinxed it. 

I'm currently perched up on my bed in Florence after an afternoon trip to Pisa, figured now's a good time to fill you all in on my Rome adventures... You know, before old age memory kicks in and I just have to resort to making up stories.

Buongiorno da Amalfi Coast!

I made it!!!

Despite my trip getting off to a rough start (German TSA chucked the maple syrup bottle from my carry on citing it wasn't "sealed properly"...BULL!!!), it's been amazing since!

The first week of my Euro-romp was a weeklong tour of the Amalfi Coast with G Adventures; the only tour portion of my trip. Not a bad way to start, eh?

And so it begins...

Let me just keep it real for a minute.

Ever sit at your computer, working away at your 'To-Do list' and find yourself drifting in and out of daydreams...all of which seem to include airplanes, foreign countries and a whole lot of wandering?
